Woodbridge Regatta 2016

Woodbridge Regatta

This year’s Woodbridge Regatta & Riverside Fair is all set for “float off” from noon on Sunday 26th June, with all sorts of activities and entertainment to keep the whole family amused. With plenty to do on and off the water, this year’s regatta looks set to make a bigger splash than ever before.

If you don’t want to miss out on an excellent family day out, make your way to the river wall that runs from The Tide Mill to the Deben Yacht Club for 12.00pm. There you’ll find everything from face painting, rides and stalls to live music, entertainment and refreshments.

The event kicks off with Songs of Praise on the Tea Hut stage and finishes at 5.30pm with the Woodbridge & District Lions Club Duck Dive at the Model Yacht Pond. In between, there’s a full programme of river races, including the event’s centrepiece, the 2016 haart raft race, which always provides plenty of amusement for the crowds.

A Free Family Fun Day!

It’s not often you get a full day of entertainment completely free of charge, but entry to the Woodbridge Regatta is free for all. There’s also free parking at the Suffolk District Coastal District Council car park at Melton Hill, Woodbridge, IP12 1AU.

As well as admission and parking, entry to The Tide Mill, a Grade I listed building and rare example of a working tide watermill, is completely free for the day. This, the last commercially working tide mill in the UK, has now been restored to working order and provides a fascinating attraction for visitors.

There are also free boat trips up river throughout the day, so if you don’t fancy competing in a river race, at least you can take in the sights in a more serene way.
