Merry Christmas From Orwell Meadows!

Christmas events in Ipswich

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all at Orwell Meadows! Amidst the beautiful, natural landscape of Suffolk, we’ve been busily putting up trees and decking the halls with boughs of holly. After all, tis the season to be jolly!

We’ve also been welcoming visitors to our lovely corner of the world throughout the winter. It may not be camping weather, but our caravans and holiday homes are wonderfully cosy all year round – perfect for exploring all 18 acres of the Orwell Meadows Country Estate – and the many attractions of Suffolk at this festive time of year.

Our little elves have been busy taking bookings for Easter and Summer 2017, too. If you’re hoping to visit us next year, get in touch to secure your spot!

There’s plenty of great stuff going on locally this December and January, from Christmas Markets to fireworks displays. Here are a few events our team are looking forward to in the area:

17th December – Father Christmas arrives by Thames Barge in Snape Maltings

The little ones will love the spectacle of Santa Claus arriving in Snape Maltings on a historic Thames sailing barge.

18th December – Annual family Christmas quiz at The Kirtling Red Lion

Fun and festive brainteasers for all the family at The Kirtling Red Lion as their annual Christmas quiz gets under way. Even Santa Claus himself might put in an appearance…

21st December – Carols by candlelight with the Locrian Ensemble in Bury St. Edmunds

One of the UK’s best-loved touring groups, these chart topping classical singers will make you feel very Christmassy indeed at The Apex.

28th December – Turkey buster walk in Ipswich

Feeling even more stuffed than your turkey was after the Christmas festivities? This walk will burn off some calories and teach you about Ipswich’s history.

31st December – New Year’s Eve at The Crown in Westleton

A very cosy spot to see in the New Year, this friendly pub is offering £85 ticket for a lovely evening of champagne, treats, a celebration meal, live music and dancing.

14th-15th January – Red Riding Hood Pantomime

Taking place at both Little Bealings Village Hall and Crowfield Village Hall, here is your chance to yell “He’s behind you!” with great gusto.
