The nights have drawn in, the mercury has fallen off the face of the earth, and the annual advertising bombardment is upon us. All that adds up to just one thing – the inexorable march towards Christmas has begun!
The good news, whether you’re eagerly awaiting the Christmas festivities, or aren’t ready to deck the halls quite yet, is that there’s loads going on in and around Ipswich to get you in the mood.
This year’s festivities include:
1. Ipswich Christmas Market
This year’s Christmas Market promises to be bigger than ever, with more than 60 stalls selling everything from handmade jewellery and knitwear to locally produced fudge, German chocolates and even the world famous curry pie.
There’s also plenty of entertainment, with fairground rides for the kids and carols from local bands and groups. If all this sounds like thirsty work, why not grab a drink in the bar, or head over to the street food market where you can feast on churros, crepes, hog roast, wood-fired pizza and more.
Join in the fun from 10am–6pm on 9th–11th December. Click here to find out more.
2. Christmas Fayre at Jimmy’s Farm
The Christmas Fayre at the popular Jimmy’s Farm has its very own reindeer. As if that wasn’t enough, it also has festive favourites like mulled wine and cider, hot chestnuts, a brass band playing Christmas music and plenty of market stores selling locally produced food and wares. The farm park is also open as usual for the kids to enjoy.
The Christmas Fayre will run from 10am–4pm on the weekend of 3rd & 4th December. Click here for more info.
3. Wherstead Park’s Christmas Show
The Wherstead Park Christmas Show is back again this year, offering a luxury shopping experience for those looking to start their Christmas shopping early. As well as an abundance of high quality produce and wares, there’s also the obligatory mulled wine and festive food to keep you warm and well fed.
The show is open from 10am–4pm on the 12th & 13th November. Click here to find out more.
4. Christmas Shopping Evening
Head on down to the Kesgrave War Memorial Community Centre to find a festive winter wonderland full of gift stands, pre-bookable beauty treatments, live music and sweet treats.
